Who
We Are

Africa Eco Adventures Limited — the team behind Kenya's most trusted hot air balloon operation, flying the Maasai Mara and beyond since 2011.

Africa Eco Adventures Ltd

The Unparalleled
Maasai Mara

Africa Eco Adventures Ltd offers balloon flights in Kenya's famous Maasai Mara National Reserve — the northernmost part of the spectacular Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, home to the Great Migration and scores of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, hippos and crocodiles.

The company's owners bring over 50 years of collective experience flying balloons and hosting safari guests in the Mara, as well as other parts of East Africa. Our flights team is managed by the Director of Operations, retired Captain Andrew Peart, who has over 25 years of flying experience.

Our Chief Pilot is Captain Rizwan Jiwa, born and raised in Kenya, with an immense wildlife guiding background in both Amboseli and the Maasai Mara. In his own words: "I'm a safari guide that flies." Captain David Eris brings a wealth of experience, having started his balloon career on the chase crews of the Mara before training professionally in England and Italy.

Our balloons are manufactured by Cameron Balloons in Bristol, England — the world's largest and most successful balloon manufacturer, with over 30 years of placing safari-ride balloons in Africa. Community & Conservation

Striving to
Be Impactful

We are committed conservationists and continually strive to minimise our impact on the ecosystem. From the colours we choose for our balloon envelopes, to the noise levels of our burners, to how we train every member of staff — we are doing everything we can to safeguard this beautiful and irreplaceable game reserve for future generations.

We are a Tourism Partner of the Kenya Wildlife Trust, and a portion of every single flight fee goes directly to worthy conservation projects in the Mara area. Gliding silently over the savannah is 360 degrees of spectacular beauty — and we intend to protect every inch of it.

Our Neighbours

Rooted in the
Maasai Community

We have a very strong and longstanding relationship with the local Maasai community. We regularly invite our neighbours to come and fly with us — to experience the land they know and love from the perspective that we are privileged to share each morning. Almost all our staff are from the Maasai community, and that is not an accident. It is a deliberate commitment to improving the livelihoods of the people whose land we operate within, and whose continued stewardship of this landscape makes the Great Migration — and everything that depends on it — possible.

When you choose to fly with us, you are not simply booking a balloon ride. You are participating in an operation that invests in conservation science, supports Maasai families, and operates with a sincere respect for the ecosystem that makes the Mara one of the great wildlife sanctuaries of the world.
